Urban Dictionary says: The rhythmic gyrating of the lower fleshy extremities in a lascivious manner with the intent to elicit sexual arousal or laughter in ones intended audience.
I say: Working your body and looking like a complete idiot in the process
I remember the day, a couple of months ago, by my usual colossal bad luck, I read about the Great Miley Cyrus Twerk Incident. So she went on stage and twerked-and with that she opened the floodgates….SHE STARTED A TREND.
And THAT is how, we find white girls working their non-existent asses today, because they saw Miley Cyrus do it. The Miley everyone seems to hate, the one they are all ALWAYS criticizing-but she is also the one that they all follow anyway.
And so today-we have like a million videos on youtube of twerking teenage girls- I’m not against anyone twerking- No you can twerk if you want to, but the only thing I don’t agree with is the fact that everyone‘s posting videos of themselves twerking…
Its not funny, and I can’t say if its arousing or not-but I can say that it is absolutely unnecessary to share it with the whole wide world. I always thought that twerking was a dance move-a dance move which stays on the dance floor- in a party, when you’re really in the moment, not for someone who’s totally sober and completely aware of what they are doing.
All the same, I think that twerking is a new trend and we’ve gotta embrace it, its als something people are gonna be so confused about in 30 years (Like the bell-bottoms….what do they see in those things?) I just hope annoying things like twerking and twitter and hashtags don’t represent our generation like bell bottoms and tie-dyed everything represented the 60s.
